My labor was a challenging one—49 hours of labor—and Rebecca went through all the highs and lows of that ultimately beautiful experience with us. I cannot recommend her more highly.

Rebecca Benenati’s pre-natal yoga classes at City Yoga are transformative, playful, inspiring—they create an unique and supportive environment for pregnant women and new mothers in which to thrive, something that is all credit to Rebecca.

I am so grateful to have found her classes early in my pregnancy—I had a very active pregnancy, working all the way till the end, and when people asked me my secret to my happy pregnant GLOW despite all the stress around me, I usually said, well, yoga and I told them about Rebecca’s class. There was a chunk of time too where I had to stay in NY during my pregnancy, and I remember acutely missing Rebecca’s yoga class and that community of other yoga mamas. I attended other pre-natal yoga classes and the contrast was great—I missed the playfulness, the shared feeling of grace and gratitude, the sense of community, and frankly, the way in which I felt — physically and emotionally after Rebecca’s classes at City Yoga. Rebecca pushes you but in just the right, supportive way, and makes it fun along the way, so you leave feeling empowered, beautiful, and ready to face the challenges ahead – in pregnancy, in labor, and as a new mom.
Rebecca is a master at creating a safe, playful, inspiring place for pregnant women to come together as a community—and because of this unique environment that she creates, her classes also become a bonding thing between the women who are participating. The remarkable thing is that my daughter is now 19 months old, and I still see the other yoga mamas from Rebecca’s class regularly—almost every week we all get together for a playdate or some group thing and it was really Rebecca who brought us all together.

I asked Rebecca to be our doula and that too was an amazing experience. My labor was a challenging one – 49 hours of labor—and Rebecca went through all the highs and lows of that ultimately beautiful experience with us. I cannot recommend her more highly – she was a great source of strength both for myself and for my husband through my marathon labor. Her background in massage therapy, yoga and her own experiences of being a mother, the way she knows people and how to comfort them and inspire them, all these things are just some of the tools she carries with her into her extraordinary work as a doula.
