Rebecca is a special person, someone who has a natural ability to care for others.

My first ever yoga class was prenatal yoga with Rebecca when I was approximately 20 weeks pregnant. I walked into the first class intimidated by the very idea of yoga. I’m the least flexible person on earth.

I left the class feeling both peaceful and energized, feelings which I had previously thought to be mutually exclusive. More importantly, I felt more in touch with my baby than I ever had before. With every class, I became more in tune with my body, and more confident in my ability to give birth. Rebecca’s yoga class is very focused on the muscles, feelings and experiences of birth. Deciding to attend her classes was one of the best decisions I made regarding my birthing experience. Once I started, it became the highlight of my week, and I don’t think I missed a class. An even stronger testament to the power of her teachings is that I was back in class with my son just 14 days after he was born!

Hiring Rebecca as our doula was the best decision my husband and I made while preparing to have our first child. From the very first meeting, she radiated warmth and a relaxed, easy-going vibe. Her prenatal visits allowed my husband and I to learn more about each other, our thoughts about impending parenthood, and to practice some relaxation techniques and positions that would become very useful when I went into labour.

When the big day finally came, Rebecca was a calming presence. She helped ensure that I remained focused and confident. As labour progressed, she helped remind me that I was prepared, that I was powerful, and that I could do it. She had an uncanny ability to know what I wanted and needed before I had to ask. Rebecca assisted my labour at home, and by the time we arrived at the hospital, I was already 7cm dilated. When things slowed down and pushing continued for 4+ hours (I had a big, large-headed baby and a curved tailbone preventing a smooth, easy passage), she kept me believing that I could get through it. In the end, I was able to deliver vaginally, just minutes before the doctor would have opted for a c-section. In addition to being such a valuable resource for me, she was a rock for my husband, who said he would have been lost without her.

Rebecca is a special person, someone who has a natural ability to care for others. She is generous with her heart—and her time. If you are considering hiring a doula to help you through your childbirth, I couldn’t recommend her more highly.
